IRF Scholarship Erasmus Master Programme in Data Mining and Knowledge Management

Following the partnership that was signed on March 23rd, 2010 between the University Lumière Lyon 2 and the Information Retrieval Facility, the consortium awarded the IRF studentship to Ms. Monica Ponoran from Roumania. Her studies will be funded over two years for the Erasmus Mundus Masters DMKM.

Monica obtained her BA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Timisoara (Faculty of Automation and Computer Science) in Romania and started in 2010 with her MA in Data Mining and Knowledge Management at Université Lumière Lyon 2, France and at Università del Piemonte orientale "Amedeo Avogadro" - Alessandria, Italy.

As knowledge is considered amongst the most valuable assets of any organization, Monica wants to gain the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills for identifying and extracting interesting or important patterns from large data sets, and also an opportunity to learn to use and develop tools to better support business decision-making.

She decided to apply to the master course from Erasmus framework because it brings together the educational knowledge of famous universities from four European countries France, Italy, Spain and Romania and also joins students from around the world which brings about stimulating cultural diversity.

The scholarship provides all the conditions for a full-time study program in an extremely modern environment (modern classrooms that allow online classes), medical insurance, accommodation and transportation in the best conditions.
