Step 1: Request User Account

The process of becoming a member of the IRF consists of three steps:

Start by

1) Requesting a User Account by using the form below.
After a positive review of your request you recieve an email, which contains a link to 2)

2) Register a User Account in order to receive your IRF basic information package (IRF constitution, manuals etc.)
Finally please fill out 3)

3) Membership Application Form, which will be reviewed by the board members. As soon as your application has been approved you will be welcomed via E-Mail as a new IRF member.

Make Your IR Experiments Count! Submit your IR research project the IRF and become part of the worlds greatest semantic supercomputing facility.

The Information Retrieval Facility (IRF) is an open research institution on IR science. The project is managed by leading international experts in the field, like C.J. van Rijsbergen from the University of Glasgow or David Hawking, the Chief Scientist of Funnelback in Australia. These top scientists ensure the highest expertise in selecting submitted research projects.

For scientists, access to the experimental environment is free and granted in line with exclusively scientific criteria.

IRF-Membership gives you privileged access to the IRF website and allows the submission of projects. Accepted projects are fully supported by the IRF.

The Hardware: An SGI Altix 4700 with 80 processor nodes with 360 GB random access memory operate in the form of a large virtual system called LDC (Large Data Collider), modelled on CERN.s LHC (Large Hadron Collider)
