Vienna, 23/07/2007 – Matrixware has recently engaged the services of Fairview Research under the direction of owner Mike Baycroft (51) to assist with the development of an innovative, state-of-the-art patent database that will support advanced Information Retrieval research. Fairview Research will assist in the design of the database, the technical infrastructure, and the research frameworks while helping Matrixware establish a sustainable business model. “Matrixware has a unique team that has a strong research background combined with seasoned technical expertise,” says Baycroft. “Given their resources the opportunity for meaningful innovation is huge.” Mr. Baycroft is best known for his role as CIO of MicroPatent, where his management of the technology and product development teams was instrumental in transforming the 25-person intellectual property company with sales of 4 million dollars into a enterprise boasting 180 people with revenues approaching 35 million dollars.

Mr. Baycroft will also help Matrixware organize the Information Retrieval Facility Symposium (IRFS) to be held in Vienna in November. This two day conference is the first of its kind bringing together leading international experts from the Information Retrieval and the Intellectual Property industries.
